Kakao’s 24K celebrates new ideas...and fun!

Kakao held its own version of a 24-hour hackathon, the 24K, on June 21, 2014 at the Kakao offices in Pangyo, South Korea. The second annual Kakao hackathon, 2014’s 24K event was big, fun and bursting with new ideas.

During the 24 hour event, Kakao Krew form teams, generate business ideas, and race the clock to create a thoroughly original service, pausing every now and then for activities like table tennis tournaments, 4D video games, live concerts and mobile game tournaments.

The 24 hours conclude with each team presenting their new service to their fellow 24K participants and a panel of judges. This year 312 Kakao Krew formed 82 teams, creating quite a competitive and high-energy atmosphere. Six teams were selected for excellent, useful and innovative creations, and their team members awarded prizes for their hard work and ingenuity.
