Although somewhat unfamiliar to our global users, Kakao Game is, without a doubt, the most popular mobile gaming platform in Korea. After launching in July 2012 with just ten games, Kakao Game now offers more than 600 titles, consisting of every genre imaginable.
Well, for 2015 at least, the clear genre of choice was role-playing games (RPG) as six of the ten titles selected in our 2nd annual Best Games of the Year list were of the RPG variety.
Among all “For Kakao” games released in the calendar year 10 standout titles were selected based on a wide variety of criteria, including app store ranking, sales, total users, etc. For next year, Daum Kakao is hoping to expand the award categories in order to recognize the numerous developers and games that help make Kakao Game a smashing success year after year.
