Daum Kakao is teaming up with China’s Chukong Technologies to co-publish “Superstar SMTOWN” in the first half of 2015.
Daum Kakao recently announced its plan to enter the Chinese mobile game market as a publisher, and “Superstar SMTOWN” will be the first such effort.
Developed by Korea's Dalcomsoft inc., “Superstar SMTOWN” is a rhythm game featuring top K-Pop stars from SM Entertainment. The current version, available for both Android and iOS, offers more than 100 songs from 15 artists including BoA, TVXQ!, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee and TAEMIN.
“Superstar SMTOWN” was selected as the first publishing title due to the massive popularity of SM artists and K-Pop in China. The game is expected to be a hit with fans looking for a bit of K-Pop flavor in their mobile games.
Chukong is one of China’s top game developers/publishers, best known for the Cocos2d-x open source game engine as well as best-selling titles such as “Fishing Joy.”
